Our Healthcare Staff
All of our nurses (RGN, RPN, RCN and RNID) are registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, and hold current certification in Patient Moving and Handling, CPR/BLS, Children First and Adult Safeguarding. They have broad experience of working in acute settings, as well as in nursing home environments and within the community.
Communicare’s Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) hold – at a minimum – a FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare. Achieving this certification involves being trained and receiving practical experience in numerous areas of healthcare provision, including Patient Moving and Handling, CPR/BLS, Infection Prevention and Control, care of the elderly, personal hygiene, food hygiene, toileting and incontinence management, health and safety, fire safety, nutrition and communication. Our HCAs have also completed Children First training and, in some cases, training in the Safe Administration of Medication, specialised feeding and neurogenic bowel care.
We also employ CORU-registered Social Care Workers and a number of Social Care Assistants to deliver exceptional social care in our residential and respite facilities.
All of our healthcare staff members are Garda vetted.
