We are seeking a caring and reliable Social Care Assistant to work in a residential service for people with disabilities in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.
Hours: Shift Work - Days/Nights/Weekends (Fulltime/Permanent) We are looking for applicants that are dedicated, compassionate and constantly striving to improve their own standards of care. This is an exciting opportunity for a Social Care Assistant to join an established agency that focuses on delivering excellent care for the client and their family by developing professional working relationships and providing stability to their ongoing care.

Requirements
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 (in Social Care or Health Care)
- CPR & Patient Manual Handling
- 2 written references
- Full valid driving licence
What we're looking for?
- Ability to work independently or part of a team
- Having an empathetic and caring nature
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Flexibility will be required from time to time to respond to service demands
- Knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations
- A genuine understanding and interest in working alongside individuals in effecting positive opportunities and change in their lives in a meaningful way
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (MS Excel & Word).
- Ability to deliver support in a manner which is sensitive to the service user’s culture, disability, race, age, sexuality, marital or civil partnership status, transgender status or religion/belief
