It’s not an easy decision when trying to pick the right home-care provider for you or for your loved one. It can be a daunting task, you might even still be trying to deal with the fact that you or your loved one needs home help.

Here at Communicare we endeavor to make the process as easy for you as possible by giving you the information you need to make the right decision.

In this article we hope to outline the reasons why you should choose Communicare Healthcare as your home-care provider and the help and benefits that we can provide for you and your family.

What can we offer?

Founded over 11 years ago by a Psychiatric Nurse, Communicare Healthcare are hugely experienced in dealing with a variety of conditions & needs that our clients have. What distinguishes us from other Healthcare providers is the time and effort we put into making Communicare a client centered company in every sense of the word. We believe that good practice comes from within, which is why we invest in recruiting and training the very best healthcare professionals in Ireland.

How qualified are our staff?

We have a team of highly trained Nurses and Care Assistants that work day and night, all year round to provide our clients with the highest standards of care for them to live in their own homes, as well as for clients in hospitals and nursing homes. We truly appreciate the management complexities of multifaceted care requirements and provide winning staff and support resolutions to ensure you deliver care where needed.

All of our Care Assistants are Fetac Level 5 qualified, with up to date Patient Manual Handling and CPR certs. Some of our carers have also undergone additional training in specialist fields such as Brain Injury training, PMAV (Professional Management of Violent Behaviour) training, SONAS Dementia training and Tracheostomy Care at Temple Street Hospital.

Our nurses are RGN, RPN, R.C.N and R.N.I.D trained, are registered with An Bord Altranais and are compliant with manual handling, CPR and infection control. They have experience working in a nursing home environment as well as in acute settings and within the broader community. Many of our Paediatric RCN’s and RGN’s have experience working with young children in a community setting.

All of our staff members have been Garda vetted.

How does it work?

Call us now on 01 8338000 for an enquiry and we will answer any of the questions you might have.  One of our client care managers can then call out to your premises and assess the situation in order to identify the needs of the client, we will also carry out a risk assessment. They will advise on what level of care may be appropriate and the tasks and activities that the carer should carry out. At this time, family members can also discuss any concerns that they may have.

Our Client Care Manager, in consultation with the family and the client will then put together an individualised care plan. This will be very in-depth and will have a schedule of tasks, times, roles and responsibilities of the carer.  A client and carer factor match will also be conducted in order to identify exactly what type of carer is needed. Factors include; experience, age, gender, etc…

An introduction meeting will then be set up between the client and carer to ensure that both are satisfied and care will start as soon as all these factors have been put in place.
