International Women’s Day: Balance For Better

Today, Friday 8th of March 2019 is International Women’s day. Worldwide women continue to contribute to social, economic, cultural and political achievement and International Women’s Day has been celebrated globally since 1911.

Founded by Psychiatric Nurse, Rosaleen Kelly, Communicare is a proud employer, educator and carer of women. From our CEO, Bereneice O’Rourke, to Niamh Collins our Paediatric Clinical Director and all of the female nursing and healthcare staff employed by Communicare, women have always played a key role in the success of the company.

The theme of this year’s IWD is #BalanceForBetter – which doesn’t end after IWD, but will run all year long to encourage change. The theme is a unified call to action that will aid in the continuous development and drive for gender balance and equality throughout the year. Gender balance isn’t only a woman’s issue, it’s a societal issue and everyone has a part to play.

Internationawomensday.com believes that ‘’we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence. Balance drives a better working world. Let’s all help create a #BalanceForBetter. ‘’
