International Nurses Day 2020
Today, May 12th, is International Nurses Day 2020 and marks the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingales birth. Nightingale is credited with the founding of modern professional nursing, being instrumental in the treatment of illness & disease. Her key nursing values – which focused on maintaining good hygiene, regularly washing hands and carrying out evidence-based practices have been widely echoed over the past months, as her legacy has never been more relevant. This year’s theme for International Nurses Day is ‘’Nursing the world back to health’’ and it seems extremely fitting at this time.
The World Health Organisation stressed that without nurses and other health workers, the battle against outbreaks of COVID-19 will not be won and the world will not achieve the sustainable development goals or universal health coverage. Nurses are at the forefront of fighting epidemics and pandemics and COVID-19 is a reminder of the important role nurses play.
We at Communicare would like to acknowledge the important role that nurses play in shaping our business and allowing us to delivery exceptional care on a daily basis. We are extremely proud and grateful to all our nurses and the amazing work they have been doing throughout the year, especially over the past few and acutely challenging months. It’s fantastic to have so many dedicated and innovative nurses working with us.
So, from everyone at Communicare, THANK YOU for your hard work, dedication and bravery!
