Free Online Stress Control Classes
We are currently living in unprecedented times. Whether it is health related, the feeling of loss or financial and emotional hardships, the COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a significant increase of stress & anxiety for people throughout the world.
The spread of Coronavirus is a new and challenging event. Some people might find it more worrying than others. But something to remember is that this is affecting everyone and you are not on your own. Most people’s lives have changed in one form or another over the last few months and this pandemic can affect people in many different ways.
The HSE has launched an online, free stress control programme that will run throughout September, this is the 4th series in the stress control programme, with over 10,000 people already participating.
The programme helps participants recognise the signs of stress. It covers topics including how stress affects our bodies and our thoughts. It teaches skills to overcome panicky feelings and tips to getting a good night’s sleep.
There are 6 sessions throughout the month, each lasting 90 minutes.
Participants are encouraged to watch all sessions, but participants can join at any stage for one or more session.
Session 1: Introduction. What is stress? – Monday 07/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm
Session 2: Controlling your body – Thursday 10/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm
Session 3: Controlling your thoughts – Monday 14/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm
Session 4: Controlling your actions – Thursday 17/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm
Session 5: Controlling panicky feelings and getting a good night’s sleep – Monday 21/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm.
Session 6: Boosting your wellbeing, tying it all together and controlling your future – Thursday 24/09/2020 2pm and 8:30pm.
All sessions will be available for 48 hours after first broadcast.
